BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CHURCH IN BUDAPEST (CREC) BY PASTOR ATTILA

In fall of 2007, Attila Hajdú was licensed to be a missionary of the Evangelical Reformed church of Wrocław in the Budapest area. He was pursuing his ordination in the CREC. Through teaching English the Mission was able to reach out with the gospel to the community. In 2010, Attila successfully passed the Presbytery Ordination Exam and was ordained by the Evangelical Reformed Church of Poznan in Poland. Hungarians who came from these English classes to Bible studies were taught and catechized for three years.

In February of 2013 the church began having weekly Covenant Renewal Worship services. Attila Hajdú is the elder and pastor of the local church. Our ongoing prayer requests is that God would allow us to make contact with other fellow Reformed communities in Hungary and see how we could help each other in our effort to revive the reformation.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES

For now, my main focus is:

1. Writing articles on my new Christian blog on contemporary issues relating to theology. I started a discussion on women in the clergy and liturgy. Our website is www.reformalt.hu and www.liturgikuskalvinista.hu This is a new area for me, so I need wisdom and prayer on how to do this well.

2. Uploading sermons and soon commentaries on theological issues.

3. Translation of books and articles.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Members to read and evangelize more. Growth in the church.
